The Zag Men are made up of members of San Francisco's Pine Box Boys --
Lester Raww on guitar, S. "Your Uncle" Dodds on drums, and Col.
Timothy Leather -- as well as violinist Yoon Ki Chai, also a Pine Box
regular, and keyboardist Dr. Astronaut Body. Their new score evokes
what might have happened if Snakefinger had joined the Art Ensemble
of Chicago and stormed Radio City Music Hall on October 4, 1982, at
the film's premiere and taken over the stage. "We have sections of
prepared music and improv and we let the film act as conductor," Raww
says. Audiences will still enjoy the film's cinematography, but will
be able to encounter the film in a new way due to the abandonment of
the original soundtrack. Raww promises, "The film is much less sleepy
with our score."
